Tripura

This is a landlocked  state in North East India, this is the third smallest state in India.
In Mahabharata ,Puranas and Edicts of Ashoka- mentioned that Tripur is the Kirat Desh, which is reffering Kirata Kingdoms,

The boundaries of the kingdom changed over the centuries. The borders reached south to the jungles of Sundarban on the Bay of Bengal; East to Burma, North to the boundary of the Kamrupa kingdom in Assam and to the west it is bordered with Bangladesh. It was also known as Hill Tippera before  the British government directly ruled it.

Migrated Bengali Hindus from Bangladesh and indigenous Tripuri peoples are the main inhabitants of this state. The chakma tribals are mainly buddhist, and Christianity is mainly followed by the tribal groups like Kuki,Garo,Halam etc.

Agartala is the capital of this state situated in the plain part of this land, the undulating landscape is dotted with hillocks and green foliage cover most of the city.all the modern amenities are available here and surely the beautiful clean roads ( a true swatch Bharat indeed!) can attract the visitors.
On the other side there are several mountain range runs from north to south like Jampui Hills, Boromura, Atharamura, Longtharai etc. Al most half of Tripura is covered by forests.Sugar cane and Bamboos are the common in the forest.

Agartala airport is located 12 km away to the northwest of Agartala at Singerbhil, and this is the second busiest airport in northeast India after Guwahati. There are only one highway NH-8 which is connected Tripura to the other parts of India. Passenger helicopter services are also available between the capital and major towns like Kailashahar, Dharmanagar as well as to more remote areas such as Kanchanpur and Gandacherra.

There was a railway line which was broken in 1947 during India was partitioned. Railway service re established in Tripura
in the year 1964 with metre gauge track from Lumding of Assam to Dharmanagar and Kailasahar of Tripura  and changed
in to broad gauge in 2016 and it connected the city Agartala.

Some parts of the state were shelled by the Pakistan Army during the Indo-Pakistani War in 1971. After that Indian government reorganised the North East region to ensure effective control of the international borders – three new states came into existence on 21 January 1972 Meghalaya, Manipur, and Tripura.
